Job Description

Astrum Search is working exclusively with a globally recognised media organisation to recruit a Senior Internal Auditor into their growing in-house team.

Reporting to the Internal Audit Manager, you will be involved in planning and delivering a host of audits across finance, business and IT processes. You will get great exposure across the business and will have significant interaction with senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare audit testing plans that focus on key risk areas
  • Deliver audit testing, as part of a team and alone, adopting a flexible approach in response to findings and emerging risks
  • Agree issues and impacts of identified risks, as well as route causes, with management
  • Write clear, concise and balanced audit reports
  • Manage and develop strong working relationships across the business, acting as a champion for internal control and risk management
  • Lead and participate in ad-hoc tasks and projects when required.

Skills & Experience:

  • A recognised accountancy or internal audit specific qualification (ACA/ACCA/IIA/CIMA or equivalent)
  • Previous internal audit experience is a pre-requisite
  • Proven experience of working in a complex international, commercial business
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to write concise audit reports

My client is globally recognised and offers lots of opportunities to progress your career within the internal audit function, but also across the wider business. This is a very typical career path and there are lots of examples of candidates moving internally from internal audit to commercial roles in the Group. It's a great opportunity to join a complex organisation that operates across a wide spectrum of the media industry.

The location of the role is flexible and can be based in either London or Birmingham. The team are expected to be office based 1-2 x per week on average.
