Job Description
Astrum Search is working with a PE backed infrastructure services business to recruit a Senior Internal Auditor into their growing team. There has been significant investment in the internal audit team resulting in a number of new roles being created.
The role is to be based from my clients HQ in Stevenage, however they have a very flexible working policy. Ideally, you will visit the office 1 x per week but there is some flex on this.
Reporting to the recently appointed Head of Audit & Risk, this is a delivery focussed role working across all divisions in the Group. You will get significant autonomy and exposure making this a great opportunity to aspiring internal auditors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working as part of a team to deliver a broad range of financial and operational audits, from planning through completion
- Ensure audits are completed to high standards and timeframes, evaluating the effectiveness of controls and identifying themes and insights for consideration by management
- Produce high quality and concise written audit reports with considered recommendations to address key risk areas
- Ensure audit actions are agreed and followed up in a timely manner
- Contribute to ad-hoc projects and the continued development of the Group Internal Audit function
Skills & Experience:
- A recognised accountancy or internal audit qualification.
- Experience of performing and managing audits, including risk assessment, setting objectives and scope, testing and sampling methods.
- Strong analytical skills and able to interpret data to draw suitable conclusions. Data analytics experience would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships and influence.
- Flexible approach to work and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
You will be joining a growing internal audit team that has a strong reputation. The role will suit a self-motivated and ambitious individual who enjoys a challenge and is comfortable in executing a wide range of audits from a “blank sheet of paper”.
Salary does depend on experience but will range from £55,000 - £65,000 + £6,120 car allowance + 16% bonus.
