Astrum Search is delighted to be exclusively recruiting a Senior Risk & Controls Manager for an international media business. This is a senior role in the risk & controls team and does offer formal line management responsibility.
My client is a global organisation and has a large risk & controls team that is regionally split. This particular role sits in their EMEA team and reports to the Director of the EMEA region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted partner and advisor in the area of risk, internal controls, and compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement in the controls environment, whilst building long-term relationships to identify and anticipate issues and risks.
- Provide training on internal policies in relation to controls and compliance.
- Lead the regional Risk & Control team alongside the Director, setting high standards and clear expectations.
- Support the design and implementation of financial, operational and compliance controls across the region.
- Support the design and operation of effective on-going quality review / control monitoring programs as a second line of defence.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, including use of technology, while adapting to the new and evolving challenges and opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills:
- ACA/CA/ACCA qualified with post-qualification experience in ethics and compliance, business process improvement, risk management, or internal audit at a multinational company.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, Sarbanes-Oxley, and PCAOB requirements.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Media sector experience an advantage.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Fluency in another EU language is a plus.
