Head of Risk - 12 month FTC
Astrum Search is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Head of Risk (12-month FTC) to join a leading UK PLC at a pivotal moment in its transformation journey. This is a highly visible, board-level role for a risk professional ready to make a genuine strategic impact.
Reporting into senior leadership, you will own the design and delivery of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework, drive risk culture and maturity across the organisation, and serve as a trusted advisor to the Executive Committee, Board, and Audit & Risk Committee.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the organisation's risk appetite and tolerance framework
- Develop key risk indicators and dashboards to enable proactive risk management
- Conduct horizon scanning for emerging risks, including ESG, geopolitical and macroeconomic factors
- Collaborate with Internal Audit, Compliance, Finance and Legal for a holistic risk approach
- Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing Risk team
What We're Looking For
- A relevant professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, IIA, IRM or equivalent)
- Proven ERM expertise, including framework design, risk appetite development and board-level reporting
- 8+ years' post-qualified experience in risk, audit or assurance at senior level
- Experience in complex non-regulated PLC environment
- Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills at Executive and Board level
