Astrum Search is delighted to be supporting a major UK infrastructure organisation in the appointment of a Lead Internal Auditor to join its established Internal Audit function.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a large, complex and high-profile organisation, taking responsibility for delivering risk-based audits across a diverse range of operational, financial and business activities.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and deliver risk-based internal audit assignments from planning through to reporting.
• Assess business processes, risks and internal controls, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Develop audit scopes, programmes and reports, providing clear, practical recommendations.
• Lead audit teams, reviewing work and ensuring high-quality audit delivery.
• Coach and support junior auditors, contributing to their professional development.

Skills & Experience:

• Experience delivering internal audits within a complex organisation or professional services environment.
• Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or IIA, or relevant operational experience.
• Strong understanding of risk management, internal controls and assurance.
• Excellent communication, analytical and report-writing skills.
• Confidence engaging with stakeholders and challenging existing processes constructively.
• Ability to lead audit assignments independently and manage competing priorities.
