Astrum Search is working with a growing PLC to recruit a new Senior Internal Audit Manager. This is a newly created role in a growing in-house team.

Reporting to the Director of Internal Audit & Risk, this is a true management role that will take ownership of the delivery of the annual audit plan. You will directly line manage 2 more junior auditors, contributing to their ongoing development. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop a risk-based strategic audit plan working with senior management for audit committee approval.
• Coordinate in-house and co-source resource for the delivery of the audit plan, including development of a monitored delivery plan.
• Ensure the internal audit methodology is fully aligned to IIA standards.
• Create fully fact-checked audit findings prior to reporting, securing management's agreement to recommendations.
• Line management responsibility for the audit team, including setting performance objectives, supporting development, and providing regular feedback.
• Attend Audit & Risk Committee meetings as required to present and discuss results of internal audit activity. 

Skills & Experience:

• Fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIA).
• Substantial internal audit experience of leading audit delivery in a complex PLC (either in-house or practice).
• In-depth understanding of best practice Internal Audit methodology.
• Experience of leading and managing a small team of auditors.
• Ability to present and discuss internal audit findings with credibility at Audit & Risk Committee meetings.

The role has low travel and Central London based 2-3 x per week.
